Extra-Curricular Clubs
Enjoy & Achieve
Clapton Girls' Academy offers a wide range of activities for all years at the end of the compulsory school day. After school clubs and activities, performances and displays of work are complemented by regular visits from professional actors, poets, musicians, artists and dancers. We develop the full potential of every child through this programme of positive social, emotional, physical and intellectual experiences in a safe, friendly and secure environment.
Clubs and activities
Clubs and activities are designed to extend, enhance and support the curriculum. Click on the club list above to see the huge range of opportunities on offer throughout the week. Ideas, suggestions or requests for activities from students and their parents/carers are always welcome.
Students are expected to attend clubs regularly. Spaces in clubs are allocated to students who arrive first but if your child is unsuccessful in gaining a space in their preferred club on this occasion, their name will be added to a waiting list and have the opportunity to attend in the future.
If you have any questions relating to clubs, please contact the academy and ask to speak to Student Reception.
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
Students can also access computers and other resources in the Learning Resources Centre (LRC) Mondays to Fridays, 3.00pm - 4.30pm. The LRC is also open in the morning 8.30-8.40am to allow students to print home learning, return and borrow books, and complete Accelerated Reader quizzes.
Breakfast Club:
The Breakfast Club is held in the dining pavilion every school day from 8.15am to 8.35am. Breakfast can be purchased only in the dining pavilion, but the toast is free! Many students are regular visitors - arriving early is a great way to start the day.
Academy Instrumental Lesson Programme
At Clapton Girls Academy, we are delighted to run an instrumental lesson programme, through which all students have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument in a small group or one-to-one setting. Lessons are paid for via ParentPay.
Timetables are printed on the music corridor near the practice rooms. Please ask your child to check her lesson times and ensure she is prompt.
