Transition
CGA provides as much support as possible before a new student starts in Year 7 to help them feel more confident, less anxious and better equipped to cope with the changes associated with moving to secondary school:
at a meeting with the student and their family a Home/School Agreement is signed and the family receive a New Families Handbook which gives detailed information about us.
New students can use our Taster Day and Transition resources online, as well as experience a Taster Day before they start in September. These activities develop teamwork and leadership, as well as provide opportunities for developing social skills.
New students and their parents are welcomed to CGA at New Families Evening - an opportunity for students and their families to find out more, meet form tutors, senior staff and learning mentors and become more familiar with our procedures.
